President: Dr Peter Ruchin - NSW
Peter Ruchin is a St Vincent’s trained cardiologist with over eight years’ experience as a consultant physician. He has achieved international accreditation in interventional cardiology following fellowships at St Vincent’s Hospital (Sydney), Centro Cardiologico Monzino (Milan, Italy), University of Ottawa Heart Institute (Ottawa, Canada) and Vancouver General Hospital (Vancouver, Canada). He has performed thousands of interventional coronary procedures and continues to develop his expertise in this field. Dr Ruchin has been involved in large-scale, centre-specific and international research in interventional cardiology and peripheral intervention. Dr Ruchin is a partner in Riverina Cardiology and Cardiology at The Mater and provides specialist cardiac and general medical services to a diverse patient base in these practices.

Vice-President: Dr Katie Ellard - NSW
Katie Ellard is a visiting medical officer at North Shore Private Hospital and Mater Hospital, and is a member of the department of gastroenterology at Royal North Shore Hospital.
Treasurer: Dr John Best AO - NSW
Dr John Best worked for many years in policy, strategic planning and management in the health sector, advising Federal and State Governments, industry, hospitals and health services. He was involved in the development of health and medical policy for rural and remote areas (including the creation of the national network of University Departments of Rural Health and Rural Clinical Schools), postgraduate medical training initiatives and continuing professional development for medical practitioners.
From 1997-2003 he chaired the Strategic Research Development Committee, one of four principal committees of the NHMRC. He is a former Deputy Secretary-General of the AMA, former President of the International Society for Quality in Health Care and of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine. He has been Director of Medical Services for four rural health services in NE Victoria, was Chair of three health service credentialling committees and was Inaugural Director of Clinical Training for the Murray to the Mountains (M2M) Intern Program.
He is presently an adviser in the areas of medical administration and health care quality.

Dr Nancy Bilkhu - VIC
Dr Nancy Bilkhu is a consultant physician in general medicine based in Wangaratta in rural Victoria having recently completed her advanced training as a consultant physician. She held training positions at Austin Health and Northern Hospital in Melbourne following her advanced training in Wangaratta and Shepparton.

William Heddle - SA
William Heddle is a cardiologist/electrophysiologist based in Adelaide. As well as working in private practice, he is a Senior Consultant Cardiologist at Flinders Medical Centre and Senior Lecturer in Medicine at Flinders University of South Australia. Dr Heddle has been on the Executive of the Australian Medical Association (SA) for the past decade, was AMA (SA) President from 2003 to 2005 and from 2004 has been the Physician Craft Group representative on the AMA Federal Council. Since 2003 he has been an elected member of the SA State Committee of the RACP.

Andrew Nunn - VIC
Andrew Nunn is a rehabilitation physician working as a Director in the Victorian Spinal Cord Service, private practice and rural clinics. Dr Nunn has a strong interest in the application of technology in ehealth, patient monitoring and assistive and therapeutic devices. He has had administrative roles in Alfred Health Care Group, including Head of Nonacute Business Unit and Chief Clinical Advisor Inner and Eastern Healthcare network. He has also enjoyed a long association with both Monash and Melbourne Universities in engineering and medicine through teaching and research.
Dr Terry Stubberfield - VIC
Dr Terry Stubberfield is a paediatrician in private practice in Wangaratta, and is a visiting medical officer at the Wangaratta Base Hospital since 1996.
